The only thing I asked for that Christmas was a nurse's bag\, and once I found it on Christmas day\, I told my parents to just have Santa take everything else back."\n\n That calling eventually led her to home care and relationships that have lasted for decades.\n\n "My introduction to home care involved a pediatric patient on a ventilator. The hospital asked if I could get her home\, settled\, and teach the family what they needed to know. Well\, as you might suspect\, I remained involved in her care for two years. My love of nursing has allowed me the opportunity to enter a stranger's home and leave as a friend. Even after all these years\, many of those new friends still invite me to family gatherings. It has been a career that has already lasted a lifetime."\n\n \n\n Kyle Simon\n \nSenior Director of Policy\, Advocacy & Communications\n \nHome Care Association of Florida\n\n Kyle Simon is HCAF's Senior Director of Policy\, Advocacy & Communications.
