Do you know what to expect when a state surveyor walks through your door? This session will cover the basics of the Agency for Health Care Administration's (AHCA) rules and regulations for home care services in the state of Florida. A review of pertinent statutes and how to meet these State-specific standards will be explained. Whether your agency provides skilled or non-skilled services, upon completion of the course, you will have a better understanding of the regulations you must meet to provide these services in Florida.

Meet the Speaker

One might say that Kim Wilkerson essentially "grew up" in home health, having spent almost her entire adult life working in it. After working for a few years for other companies, she managed to scrape together $5,000 for an initial payment for a five-patient-census home health agency outside of Houston, Texas. She sold the agency in 2007 after increasing it to a census of over 500 patients in three offices. After "retiring" to Key West in 2008, she then successfully opened a new agency in an area where there had only been one agency for over 25 years. She sold that agency in 2017. Through these acquisitions, she has seen the good, the bad, and the ugly - and learned from it all. Active now in consulting for Home Health Solutions, a Simione Coding Company, she focuses on due diligence and compliance. Kim is a wealth of practical knowledge for anyone needing advice from someone who's "been there".
