    Grant W. Kindrick is a Partner at Tampa-based BBDG Law. He brings expertise in the areas of general litigation, insurance defense, commercial litigation, and workers' compensation to the firm. As a litigator, Grant has handled auto negligence, chemical and biological exposure cases, catastrophic injury and wrongful death claims, negligent hiring and retention claims, workers' compensation, insurance coverage and reinsurance disputes, premises liability claims, commercial transaction cases, complex probate litigation, corporate derivative lawsuits, and arbitrations. In 2007, Grant earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the Furman University in Greenville, S.C. He earned his Juris Doctorate from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. in 2010. Since that time, Grant has practiced law in Florida handling high-end clients with large Self-Insured Retention (SIR) workers’ compensation defense matters; state circuit court premises liability matters, automobile/trucking, employer liability matters; and federal court commercial litigation matters. Like all of the attorneys at BBDG Law, Grant is fully comfortable walking into federal district court, state circuit court, or a workers’ compensation tribunal.

Adam graduated from West Virginia University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on marketing and a minor in advertising. In addition to his senior care industry experience, Adam previously worked in the health insurance field and taught for four years in Collier County public schools. All of his experiences have contributed to his being a well-rounded professional. Adam spends time volunteering for local non-profit organizations such as the Parkinson's Association of Southwest Florida and Alzheimer's Support Network. He serves as president of the Naples Interagency Board of Directors and co-chaired the Leadership Coalition on Aging-Collier County 2020 Senior Empowerment Series.     Bobby Lolley, RN, is HCAF’s Executive Director. He has worked in the home care industry for more than 20 years. His home care experience ranges from being a per diem staff nurse providing care to patients in a small rural community, to a regional director for a large national chain. He often says he has done just about every job there is in the home care sector, but still remembers his first home visit: “I was standing there in this little old lady's house and a feeling came over me that I had finally come home — I knew then and there this would be where I would spend the remainder of my professional life.” His faith and passion for home care have never wavered since. Bobby graduated cum laude from the Valdosta State University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Jimmy Card - Senior Associate, Larry J. Overton & Associates
    Jimmy Card is the former Government Relations Director for Coral Gables-based HMO Preferred Medical Plan. He previously served as legislative aide to House Majority Whip Gaston Cantens, playing a role in the 2002 election cycle. He graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. in Communications/Public Relations.
  • Kyle Simon - Director of Government Affairs and Communications, Home Care Association of Florida
    Kyle Simon is HCAF's Director of Government Affairs and Communications. His background includes several years of health policy, advocacy, and political experience. He has worked with federal and state policymakers on Medicare, Medicaid, prescription drugs, and regulatory issues, served members of Congress, managed a statewide political organization representing the President of the United States, and held leadership roles in multiple political campaigns. Additionally, he has been an Adjunct Professor at Valencia College since 2012. Kyle holds a Master of Science degree in Applied American Politics and Policy and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Florida State University.
Summary
Voters' approval of Amendment 2 to raise the minimum wage to $15 had unintended consequences for all home care providers, including having already exacerbated the workforce shortage crisis. During this panel discussion, HCAF's contract lobbyist and in-house advocacy team will discuss these and other challenges, as well as strategies to increase reimbursement, reduce regulatory burdens, and ultimately strengthen the home care's political power in Tallahassee and Washington, D.C.
