The Home Care Political Action Committee (PAC) achieved a historic milestone in the 2024 election cycle, setting new records for fundraising and strategically advancing the home care industry’s priorities. The PAC’s efforts during this cycle, spanning from January 2023 to November 2024, underscore its critical role in fostering advocacy and ensuring that home care remains a priority in Florida’s policymaking forums.

Record-Breaking Fundraising Success

This cycle, the PAC raised $68,502.46, the highest amount in its nearly 30-year history, with contributions from 428 donors, including 229 unique supporters. With an average contribution of $147.62, the PAC’s remarkable engagement demonstrates the growing commitment of the home care community.

Strategic Investments in Key Races

The PAC allocated $63,179.98 to support political campaigns for candidates aligned with the home care industry’s priorities. All supported candidates who remained in their races were successfully elected, further solidifying the PAC’s influence.

  • Senator Bryan Avila (R-19): Representing part of Miami-Dade County
  • Senator Colleen Burton (R-12): Health Policy Committee Chair, representing part of Polk County
  • Senator Ed Hooper (R-21): Appropriations Committee Chair, representing parts of Pasco and Polk counties
  • Representative Josie Tomkow (R-51): Health and Human Services Committee Chair, representing part of Polk County
  • Senator Jay Trumbull (R-2): Chair of the Appropriations Committee on Health and Human Services, representing multiple counties in northwest Florida

The PAC’s Board of Directors, composed of leaders from across the home care industry, provided oversight and guidance to ensure funds were allocated effectively to advance the industry’s priorities.
