Join Florida’s Voice for Home Care in Washington: Register Now for the 2025 Fall Advocacy Fly-In
HCAF encourages all Florida home care advocates to participate in the upcoming National Alliance for Care at Home Fall Advocacy Fly-In, taking place September 8-10 in Washington, D.C. This pivotal event builds on the success of the legacy March on Washington fly-in — now with a renewed focus on collaboration across the full care-at-home continuum.
With growing national attention on home-based care, now is the time for Florida’s provider community to make its voice heard. Meeting in person with congressional staff remains one of the most effective ways to influence federal policy — and the Alliance is committed to helping attendees build those connections on Capitol Hill.
Why You Should Attend
Whether you’re new to federal advocacy or a seasoned policy champion, this year’s fly-in offers:
- Targeted training and strategic briefings
- Group preparation sessions for effective messaging
- Coordinated Capitol Hill meetings with Florida’s congressional delegation
- Networking opportunities with care-at-home peers from across the country
Who Should Attend?
- Industry leaders ready to champion meaningful policy reform
- Home care professionals facing increasing demand and resource constraints
- Advocates and caregivers with compelling stories to share about the impact of care-at-home services
Policy Priorities: What We’re Fighting For
Medicare Providers
- Block the 2026 proposed Medicare payment cuts — the largest since Patient-Driven Groupings Model (PDGM) began
- Advocate for stronger oversight, transparency, and fair reimbursement within Medicare Advantage
- Preserve telehealth access for home health beyond the COVID-19 public health emergency
Medicaid Home- & Community-Based Services
- Prevent home care funding cuts tied to the implementation of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act rate transparency requirements
- Oppose the finalized “80-20” wage pass-through mandate, which could reduce access to care by driving Florida providers out of the Medicaid program due to inadequate reimbursement
Private Pay Home Care
- Support the Credit for Caring Act (S.925/H.R.2036) to provide tax relief for family caregivers
- Support reinstatement of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) companionship services exemption to reduce administrative burdens and improve flexibility in staffing extended or live-in care
