The Florida Quality Improvement and Evaluation System (QIES) Help Desk, in coordination with the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), has announced a series of upcoming training sessions to provide important updates related to the Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS).

These virtual sessions are intended to support home health agencies in maintaining compliance with federal reporting requirements and understanding recent updates impacting data submission and documentation.

OASIS Reporting Requirements

OASIS remains a core federal reporting requirement for Florida home health agencies that are Medicare-certified or Medicaid-enrolled. Providers are required to electronically submit OASIS data to the state database in accordance with federal regulations in place since July 19, 1999.

Florida home health agencies should use CMS-issued branch identifiers in M0016, replacing the previous Florida-specific requirement to enter the state license number (without the “HHA” designation).

Providers are encouraged to stay informed by subscribing to the OASIS Help Desk email alert system, which distributes timely updates and “late-breaking” information related to OASIS requirements and changes.

Why This Matters

With continued updates to OASIS requirements and increasing emphasis on data accuracy and compliance, participation in these trainings is an important step in ensuring agencies remain aligned with federal and state expectations.

HCAF encourages members to take advantage of these sessions to stay current on reporting requirements and avoid potential compliance issues.
