Medicare Medicaid Private Duty Government Affairs & Advocacy

The Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) is extending the publication of a Notice of Proposed Rule regarding the Home Health Aides for Medically Fragile Children program. According to the notice, AHCA needs more time to finalize and seek public input on the proposed rule before officially issuing a Notice of Proposed Rule. The initial notice was published in December 2023, and this extension allows for further development and consideration of public feedback. To access the draft rule text, click here.

AHCA is also extending the publication of a Notice of Proposed Rule related to the standards for the appropriate use of facial coverings for infection control. Similar to the first notice, this extension indicates that AHCA requires additional time to refine and obtain public feedback on the proposed rules before they are formally implemented. The initial notice for this rule was published in August 2023. To access the draft rule text, click here.

HCAF will continue to monitor these developing rules' progression and promptly share updates as they become available.
