AHCA to Host Rural Health Transformation Program Town Hall in Citrus County on February 20

Medicare Medicaid Private Care

The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) will host a Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) Town Hall on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce in Crystal River. The session will provide stakeholders with important updates on upcoming funding opportunities, program structure, and strategies to strengthen health care delivery in Florida’s rural communities.

The Rural Health Transformation Program is a federally funded initiative supported entirely by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The program is designed to improve access to care, enhance quality, and support innovative models tailored to the unique needs of rural populations.

During the town hall, AHCA officials will present an overview of the program’s goals, eligible funding opportunities, and “initiative bundles” — targeted investments intended to address rural health challenges through coordinated, community-based approaches. The session will also focus on application readiness, including how providers and community partners can prepare to pursue funding and participate in transformation efforts.

In addition, the meeting will emphasize partnership development and technical assistance resources available to help organizations navigate program requirements and implementation. Participants will have the opportunity to share feedback on local priorities, workforce challenges, access barriers, and infrastructure needs. This input will help inform how the program is deployed across rural regions of Florida.

The town hall is open to providers, community leaders, and other stakeholders interested in advancing rural health capacity and accessing new federal funding opportunities.

Additional information and the official meeting notice are available here.

This program represents a significant federal investment in strengthening rural health systems in Florida, and participation in these early planning sessions may help position providers and community partners to benefit from future funding opportunities and program initiatives.
