Annual Assessment for Home Health Aide Program Serving Medically Fragile Children Now Open
The Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) has launched its annual assessment for the Home Health Aide for Medically Fragile Children program, as required by Section 400.54, Florida Statutes. This assessment evaluates caregiver satisfaction, identifies additional support needs, and reviews the hospitalization rates for children receiving home health services, comparing those attended and not attended by home health aides.
The assessment covers services provided from October 1 of the previous year to September 30 of the current year. The findings will help AHCA enhance program quality and better address the needs of medically fragile children under the age of 21 who receive skilled care.
All licensed home health agencies that provide services to these children are required to complete and submit the assessment by November 1, 2024. Submissions can be made online via the AHCA portal here.
For any questions or technical assistance, providers can reach out to the Bureau of Health Facility Regulation at (850) 412-4402 or by email at bhfr@ahca.myflorida.com.
