Effective June 1, 2024, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will extend the Medicare Review Choice Demonstration (RCD) for an additional five years. This extension will apply to the current demonstration states of Illinois, Ohio, Texas, North Carolina, Florida, and Oklahoma.

As part of the extension, CMS will remove "Choice 3: Minimal Review with 25% Payment Reduction" from the initial choice selections. Palmetto GBA will proactively reach out to the small number of affected providers to coordinate new review choice selections, beginning July 1, 2024.
