The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued the final Outcome Assessment and Information Set Version E (OASIS-E). The assessment instrument cleared the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on November 31, 2022. In addition to finalizing the assessment tool, CMS issued a number of changes from the draft to the final instrument and manual. The changes are technical, typographical, or related to guidance updates.

The OASIS-E is effective January 1, 2023. When determining which version of the OASIS-E CMS instructs agencies that the OASIS-E data collection will begin with OASIS assessments with an M0090 date on or after January 1, 2023.
