The deadline for the current biannual review period for the Excellence in Home Health Award is approaching. HCAF encourages all eligible home health agencies to apply for this prestigious designation from the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) to highlight their commitment to high-quality care. This award also serves as a valuable marketing tool, prominently featured in the state's public directory of health care providers.

Established by HB 607 (2020) and implemented in July 2023, the Excellence in Home Health Award recognizes agencies that excel in delivering exceptional care and services, akin to the Nursing Home Gold Seal program. To earn this designation, agencies must demonstrate excellence in several areas: implementing evidence-based practices to reduce preventable care issues, enhancing patient daily living activities, and achieving high patient satisfaction. Additionally, agencies must perform at top-tier levels in statewide quality metrics, including emergency care prevention, hospital admissions, and medication error reduction.

This is the third review period since the award's introduction. The application deadline is September 15, with state reviews concluding by November 15 and award decisions made by December 15.
