Florida Legislature's Final Committee Week Sets Stage for Pivotal 2024 Health Care Session
The Florida Legislature convened this week for its final committee session before the 2024 Legislative Session, scheduled to commence on January 9, 2024. Four health care committees met to deliberate on legislation affecting the home care provider community, including the Governor's proposed budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. Notably, Senate President Kathleen Passidomo (R-Naples) introduced the "Live Healthy" initiative, a focal point of the week, with the comprehensive strategy aiming to strengthen Florida's health care workforce and expand the delivery of quality health care services statewide.
Continental Strategy, HCAF's contracted lobbying firm, has compiled the attached report, presenting a list of the health care committees that convened during this week and offering insights into the discussions shaping Florida's health care landscape. This report will be provided weekly throughout the legislative session.
