HHS Extends Public Health Emergency
On January 14, 2022, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra formally extended the Public Health Emergency (PHE) as a result of the continued consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The PHE was set to expire on January 16. The extension means that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) COVID-related flexibilities will remain available for at least the next 90 days.
