One of the highlights of HomeCareCon each year is the Excellence in Home Care Awards, now in its thirteenth year. These awards shine a spotlight on individuals whose dedication, skill, and compassion embody the very best of our field.

Honoring Legends: The Home Care Hall of Fame

We also welcomed our first class of inductees into the Home Care Hall of Fame, recognizing visionaries whose leadership, service, advocacy, and innovation have left a lasting legacy:

Bobby Lolley – Executive Director, HCAF (2008-2024); Past President, HCAF Board of Directors

Bobby transformed HCAF into a nationally respected association during his 16-year tenure, advancing advocacy, education, and support for Florida’s providers while inspiring a culture of community and collaboration.

Glenda Burke* – HCAF Board of Directors; Chair of Education Committee

Glenda’s five decades in health care, including 32 years in home care, set the gold standard for compliance education, mentorship, and advocacy. A founding force in Florida’s home care community, her leadership and teaching empowered generations of providers to succeed.

Theresa (Terri) Santangelo* – President, HCAF Board of Directors (2011-2013); Vice President, HCAF Board of Directors (2008-2011)

Terri was a transformational leader and tireless advocate, guiding HCAF through pivotal transitions and championing quality standards that elevated home care across Florida. Her legacy lives on through the annual Terri Santangelo Outstanding Leader Award.

Gene Tischer – Founding Member, HCAF (1989); Executive Director, HCAF (1993-2009)

Gene’s visionary leadership established Florida’s unified home care voice, strengthened ethical standards, and advanced national best practices through his co-founding of the OASIS Certificate and Competency Board, leaving a lasting impact on providers and patients alike.
