During the upcoming 2025 Florida Legislative Session, HCAF is advocating for legislative changes to modernize Florida Statute §400.476(1)(a), which imposes geographic limitations on home health administrators. These outdated restrictions create operational inefficiencies, increase administrative burdens, and fail to reflect advancements in technology that now enable effective remote oversight.

To strengthen our proposal, we are compiling case studies that highlight real-world challenges home health agencies face due to these limitations. Your experience could provide compelling evidence to demonstrate the need for change.

We are seeking examples of situations where geographic restrictions on administrators have resulted in:

• Increased operational costs or inefficiencies.
• Challenges in managing multiple locations across broader regions.
• Strained resources that could have been allocated to patient care.
• Missed opportunities to streamline oversight using modern technology.
