The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) has announced a series of statewide community meetings to support the upcoming transition of the Florida Medicaid Children’s Medical Services (CMS) Plan from Sunshine State Health Plan to Molina Healthcare of Florida.

As previously announced through a Florida Medicaid Health Care Alert, Molina Healthcare of Florida will officially assume operation of the CMS Plan effective October 1, 2026.

The meetings are intended to provide families, recipients, providers, and community advocates with an opportunity to learn more about the transition, ask questions directly to Molina representatives, and receive assistance from AHCA staff.

AHCA indicated that additional meetings are planned throughout June 2026, with future dates and locations to be announced through future Florida Medicaid Health Care Alerts and posted on AHCA's website.

Background on the CMS Plan Transition

HCAF's policy team plans to attend the upcoming meetings to learn more about the transition process and engage directly with Molina and AHCA leadership regarding implementation, continuity of care, provider participation, reimbursement, network adequacy, and operational considerations impacting Florida’s home care provider community.
