With the Patient-Driven Groupings Model (PDGM), your charts are subject to increased scrutiny as it relates to accurate coding and medical necessity. Is your coding as accurate as it needs to be?

In this intermediate-level ICD-10 coding workshop — offered live via webinar — we will work common home health scenarios, discuss guidance and conventions for accurate coding, and review new Medicare guidelines and OASIS updates.

This two-day, interactive workshop will enable your agency to thrive under the PDGM, as well as the Review Choice Demonstration (RCD).

After this workshop, the learner will be able to:

• Define ICD-10 purposes;
• Apply guidance and conventions while working through common scenarios;
• Identify resources for coding guidance; and
• Identify legal and ethical considerations when selecting an ICD-10 code.

Attendees will need the 2022 ICD-10 coding manual.

Materials will be shipped to attendees while supplies last.

Continuing Education

This program provides 6.5 continuing education units per day for skilled nursing, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. Physical therapy credits are currently pending.

Meet the Speaker

J'non Griffin, HCS-D, COS-C, HCS-H, HCS-C, is a Principal at SimiTree Healthcare Consulting and a 34-year veteran of home care as a registered nurse. She received her master’s degree in Health Care Administration in 2005. She has experience as a field nurse, director, and executive with home health and hospice agencies, both large and small. She has served as Director of Staff Development and Appeals for home health and hospice agencies. She has taken part in mock surveys for agencies and prepared agencies for accreditation. She has been directly involved in accreditation surveys, acquisitions, and many regulatory crises with state survey agencies and the intermediary. HCAF is pleased to have her currently serving on our Board of Directors.
