Meet the Speakers
Denise Bellville, RN, BS, COS-C
Denise Bellville is HCAF’s Executive Director. She has been an RN for 45 years, working in critical care, ER, and open heart surgical intensive care unit (SICU) and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) before transitioning to the home care industry as an executive for 30 years. Her home care clinical experience ranges from pediatric/adult ventilator cases, infusion therapy, and in-home peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) line placements. Her favorite aspect has always been teaching elderly patients information that helps them reach their potential and remain at home.
“I knew I wanted to be a nurse since I was five years old. The only thing I asked for that Christmas was a nurse’s bag, and once I found it on Christmas day, I told my parents to just have Santa take everything else back. My first introduction to home care was a pediatric ventilator case. The hospital asked if I could get her home, settled, and teach the family what they needed to know. Well, as you might suspect, I was there for two years. My love of nursing has allowed me the opportunity to enter a stranger’s home and leave as a friend. Even after all these years, those new friends still invite me to family affairs. It has been a career that has already lasted a lifetime.”
