HCAF invites you to join your local home care colleagues at the Region 4 Home Care Connection in Jacksonville on Wednesday, May 24. During Home Care Connection events, industry professionals can network with peers, learn from industry leaders, and discuss current challenges and opportunities in the home care industry.

The program will include a review of the 2023 Florida Legislative Session, presented by State Representative Dean Black. Additionally, HCAF staff will provide updates about recent federal and state policy developments, emerging trends within the home care industry, and much more.

Participants receive 2.0 continuing education units for skilled nursing, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology. Because connecting is an essential component of professional development, there will be dedicated time for networking.

Keynote Speaker

Representative Dean Black is a member of the Florida House of Representatives. He was elected in 2022 to represent the 15th district in Duval County. In the House, Representative Black serves on the State Affairs Committee, Agriculture & Natural Resources Appropriations Subcommittee, Children, Families & Seniors Subcommittee, Civil Justice Subcommittee, Health Care Appropriations Subcommittee, and the Healthcare Regulation Subcommittee.

He is a local business owner, rancher, and proud conservative. He has served as Chairman of the Republican Party of Duval County since 2018 and has been re-elected subsequently. An eighth-generation Northeast Florida native, he and his wife Kim have five children. He is also a proud Air Force Veteran and was a member of the 125th Fighter Wing, Florida Air National Guard on Jacksonville’s Northside.

Meet the Speakers

Bobby Lolley, RN, is HCAF’s Executive Director. He has worked in the home care industry for more than 20 years. His home care experience ranges from being a per diem staff nurse providing care to patients in a small rural community, to a regional director for a large national chain. He often says he has done just about every job there is in the home care sector, but still remembers his first home visit: “I was standing there in this little old lady's house and a feeling came over me that I had finally come home — I knew then and there this would be where I would spend the remainder of my professional life.” His faith and passion for home care have never wavered since.

Kyle Simon is HCAF's Director of Government Affairs and Communications. His background includes more than a decade of health policy, advocacy, and political experience. He has worked with federal and state policymakers on Medicare, Medicaid, prescription drugs, and regulatory issues, served members of Congress, managed a statewide political organization representing the President of the United States, and held leadership roles in multiple political campaigns. Additionally, he has been an Adjunct Professor at Valencia College since 2012. Kyle holds a Master of Science degree in Applied American Politics and Policy and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Florida State University.

Renee Bush, MSM-HA, CPC, has more than 25 years of experience across health
care, operational management, public policy, regulatory compliance, process improvement, quality assurance, and sales and marketing spectrum. Her previous experience includes serving as CEO of a network of eight Federally Qualified Community Health Centers (FQHCs) in Northeast Florida for nearly a decade and serving as chief of staff to a Florida state legislator before that. Renee holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida as well as a Master of Science in Management and Healthcare Administration (cum laude graduate) from Troy University. She has also earned certificates from the Bank of America Institute for Women's Entrepreneurship at Cornell University and the National Institute of Health (NIH)/Morehouse School of Medicine's Community Health Worker program. In addition, she holds a national certification in Health Center Governance from the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) and is a Certified Procedural Coder, certified by the American Academy of Procedural Coders.
