Florida House Unanimously Passes HB 935, Paving the Way for APRNs and PAs to Order Medicaid Home Health Services
On Thursday, February 15, the Florida House of Representatives unanimously passed HB 935 with a vote of 117-0, marking a significant step toward finalizing legislation enabling advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) and physician assistants (PAs) to order and receive reimbursement for Medicaid-funded home health services.
HB 935 has been referred to the Senate, where it will undergo the final committee review in lieu of SB 1798, its companion legislation. Pending approval by the Senate and Governor DeSantis' signature, this measure will align Florida with federal law under the CARES Act effective July 1, 2024.
Please watch the impassioned presentation by Representative Gallop Franklin (D-Tallahassee) advocating for the need to allow APRNs and PAs to order Medicaid home health services, and urging the support of fellow lawmakers.
