AHCA Announces Transition to New EVV System for Fee-for-Service Home Health Services

AHCA Announces Transition to New EVV System for Fee-for-Service Home Health Services

Medicaid

The Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) recently announced its partnership with a new Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) vendor, HHAeXchange, for home health fee-for-service (FFS) providers. Starting October 1, 2024, all FFS providers will transition to the HHAeXchange EVV system. This system will be used to record in-home visits to Florida Medicaid recipients and ensure compliance with the 21st Century Cures Act by verifying service details, including the type of service performed, date, time, location, and individuals involved.

Open Vendor Model

AHCA utilizes an "Open Vendor Model," allowing providers to either use the state’s EVV system, HHAeXchange, at no cost, or another third-party EVV system that integrates with the state’s system. Providers opting for a third-party system must still maintain an HHAeXchange portal.

Provider Actions Required

1. Complete HHAeXchange Registration by August 9, 2024

  • All providers must complete the HHAeXchange Provider Agency Registration Form to ensure correct configuration of Medicaid IDs in the HHAeXchange portal.
  • Existing users should select "yes" to the second question on the registration form.

2. Register for a HHAeXchange Information Session

  • Providers must attend an information session where HHAeXchange will provide an overview of the transition, review expectations, demonstrate the HHAeXchange Portal, and answer questions.
  • Register for one of the following Zoom sessions:
    • Tuesday, August 6 at 10:00 AM ET
    • Thursday, August 8 at 1:00 PM ET
    • Tuesday, August 13 at 10:00 AM ET

Ongoing Support and Resources

HHAeXchange and AHCA will provide continuous updates, communications, training, and resources throughout the transition.
