AHCA Press Release: DeSantis Administration Investing $1.1 Billion to Support Home- and Community-Based Services for Floridians

The Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) today announced next steps for the state's plan to disburse more than $1.1 billion to support Medicaid home- and community-based services (HCBS) through temporary federal funding. The full announcement is here.

As previously reported by HCAF, AHCA's plan to invest the $1.1 billion includes more than $669 million to directly address HCBS providers’ ongoing workforce challenges and over $266 million in one-time payments to aid eligible HCBS providers in recruiting and retaining qualified staff.

Per the release, "AHCA will begin the implementation steps necessary to initiate the application process for eligible providers and ensure appropriate measures are put in place to prevent fraud, waste, and abuse."

AHCA's website provides more information about the plan and updates on upcoming application cycles, which can be accessed at AHCA.MyFlorida.com/HCBSApplication.
