CMS Notifies Home Health Agencies of 2025 Quality Reporting Non-Compliance
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued non-compliance notifications to home health agencies found out of compliance with the Home Health Quality Reporting Program (HHQRP) requirements for the 2025 Annual Payment Update (APU). These notifications, distributed through Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs), were placed in the Internet Quality Improvement & Evaluation System (iQIES) "My Reports" folders for affected agencies on October 21, 2024.
Home health agencies that receive a non-compliance letter have the option to submit a request for reconsideration by email to CMS by November 27, 2024, at 11:59 PM ET. Detailed instructions for submitting a reconsideration request are included in the notification and available on the Home Health Quality Reporting Reconsideration and Exception & Extension webpage. It is important to note that emails larger than 20 MB or those containing protected health information (PHI) will not be accepted; any PHI must be removed before submission for review.
For further information, providers are encouraged to review the detailed guidance in their non-compliance notification or consult the CMS webpage on the reconsideration process.
