On Thursday, August 25, 2022, the Home Health Value-Based Purchasing (HHVBP) Technical Assistance (TA) Team hosted the live event, “Navigating Performance Feedback Reports: Interim Performance Report (IPR) and Annual Performance Report (APR).” This live event introduced the two (2) types of expanded HHVBP Model performance feedback reports: IPRs and APRs. A review of the purpose, availability, timing, and location of the reports were provided, followed by a walkthrough of the layout, navigation, and content on each tab of the sample reports.

The HHVBP TA Team is planning a repeat event this fall, and registration will be available soon. In the meantime, the recording, slides, and transcript are available under the “Model Reports” section on the Expanded HHVBP Model webpage. The sample reports referenced during the webinar are now available through iQIES. Instructions for accessing the reports are available on the Expanded HHVBP Model webpage.

New Expanded HHVBP Model Resources Now Available

The HHVBP TA Team is pleased to announce the availability of three (3) new on-demand videos and accompanying resources designed to support home health agencies’ (HHAs) understanding of how performance on quality measures may impact future Medicare payments under the CY 2022 HH PPS final rule.* The resources listed below are available on the Expanded HHVBP Model webpage. HHAs can view them as stand-alone resources or as part of a series. However, we suggest you review the materials in the following order:

  • How Measure Performance Becomes Care Points (15-minute video) – Designed to illustrate how performance on a quality measure becomes achievement points, improvement points, and care points.
  • How Care Points Become the Total Performance Score (TPS) (16-minute video and downloadable resource) – Provides an overview of the use of care points in the TPS calculation.
  • How the TPS Becomes the Final Payment Adjustment (12-minute video and downloadable resource) – Presents an overview of how the TPS informs the calculation of the payment adjustment. Includes a review of Model concepts such as the Linear Exchange Function (LEF) and adjusted payment percentage (APP).

For questions, please email the HHVBP Model Help Desk at HHVBPquestions@lewin.com.

*The content of these resources is for informational purposes only. HHAs will not need to conduct these calculations themselves under the expanded HHVBP Model.
