Department of Elder Affairs Introduces Automated Certificate Process for ADRD Training

Medicare Medicaid Private Duty

The Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA) has introduced an automated Certificate of Completion process for the one-hour Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) Education and Training Program. State lawmakers authorized the additional one-hour training requirement for an array of long-term care providers, including home health agencies, during the 2023 Florida Legislative Session.

Effective April 17, 2024, trainees will receive a formal DOEA-branded certificate upon completing the training. This enhancement ensures greater visibility and compliance with training requirements for site monitors from the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA).

To receive the certificate, trainees are instructed to fill out a certification form, and certificates will be emailed within 10 business days. Trainees who completed training before April 17 and submitted the form will also receive certificates. Certificates issued before the effective date will remain valid proof of training completion.
